The sound of metal being ripped apart floods the air. You stumble out the window because the door was jammed. Your bleary eyes are soon treated to a flood of molasses flooding down the street. Before you know it your legs are running at full speed away from it. It is up to you to survive. But are you up to the challenge?

Controls:

Use W to go forward. Use A to go to the left. Use D to go right. Use S to go backwards. Use SPACE to jump. Use X to put in/out of inventory. Use TAB to view inventory.

History:

The molasses flood was a disaster in 1919 where a huge tank of molasses burst. The resulting flood caused 150 injuries and 21 deaths, and destruction to the city. The flood was a result of shoddy workmanship (Britannica) even though some tried to blame sabotage. It was only ~5 minutes long, but caused huge destruction to the city and for decades after, that part of Boston would still smell like molasses. (Image to the right is a diagram from Boston.com). The molasses hit the north end too, which was crowded and full of people so the impact was more severe.
