In some scenarios a player should be able to pick up an object and carry it around through several scenes.
As scenes are generally reset when a player comes back to them, this would make pickup items re-appear.

To avoid that, a pickup item can be marked as "experience-wide item".

That way an object can be picked up and "survive" a scene change, both in-hand and in the inventory. It will also not re-appear when a player comes back to the scene.

Notes:

  1. This is different than an object being marked as "global object" and the recommended setting for pickup items. We strongly suggest to not mix both options
  2. "Allow External Interactions" in the above configuration allows players to hold objects and still be able to trigger interaction events in the scene
