Writing and presenting using a frame for a book review
This three-lesson plan guides fifth-grade students through the process of writing and presenting a book review using a structured frame. In Lesson 1, students are introduced to the components and purpose of book reviews. Lesson 2 concentrates on analyzing a book and structuring a review using a review frame. Finally, in Lesson 3, students write and present their reviews, developing both their writing and oral presentation skills.
In this 50-minute lesson, students will delve into the components of book reviews. They will learn to identify and understand the importance of the summary, opinion, and recommendation in writing a book review. By analyzing provided book review examples and creating their own short reviews, students will gain the skills to express their thoughts about books effectively.
